LCR5 – La Cinquième République
Berlin’s pulsating music scene has long been a breeding ground for innovation and artistic defiance — and LCR5 (La Cinquième République) stand firmly at its cutting edge.
Blending the hypnotic motorik pulse of krautrock with the immediacy and emotional pull of modern pop, LCR5 forge a sound they call Krautpop: cinematic, immersive, and resistant to easy classification. Their music moves effortlessly between shadow and light, nostalgia and futurism, control and chaos.
Comprised of two sonic and visual architects, LCR5 create dense worlds of texture and atmosphere. Vintage synthesizers, driving basslines, intricate percussion, and ethereal yet commanding vocals are woven into expansive soundscapes that feel both intimate and monumental. Each track unfolds like a city at night — familiar, unsettling, and endlessly alive.
Based in the heart of Berlin, the duo draw deep inspiration from the city’s cultural contrasts, architectural brutalism, and ever-shifting creative energy. Their compositions echo the spirit of classic European electronic music while pushing boldly forward, resulting in a sound that feels timeless yet unmistakably modern.
Live Experience
LCR5’s live performances are immersive and visceral — a carefully crafted collision of sound, light, and imagery. Their on-stage chemistry translates studio precision into raw, physical energy, pulling audiences into a hypnotic flow where music and visuals merge into a single narrative experience.
